Why a personal stylist?
Becoming a personal stylist was more than a profession for me. It was a journey rooted in my personal history.
Presentation and maintenance of style and beauty have always been of keen interest to me. I remember as a 5-year-old being very proud of my beautiful white broderie anglaise dress with blue trim, which I happily kept scrupulously clean throughout the day of preschool activities! I think that was a clear sign of what gave me immense joy.
But along the way I lost focus on some of my values. I became ultra-focused on the quality of my performance and outputs, very easy to do given the expectations of university and pressurised professional arenas. But looking back I recognise those years were in fact imbalanced and not a true reflection of my entire self.
So I found the transition into midlife difficult, where the weight of responsibilities and consequences of self-neglect took a toll on my self-esteem and dreams. I felt broken and old before my time. But like the proverbial “phoenix rising from the ashes”, it was during these difficult years I discovered the immense impact a positive self-image had on my mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This realization ignited a passion within me to guide and support others redefine their image, reclaiming the power of the present to tangibly alter their future.
I never believe anything in life is a waste. While my journey took some interesting twists and turns, every bit shaped my understanding that image is profoundly connected to personal fulfillment. And I believe this for you too.
