A few days ago, I had the pleasure of attending a women’s business conference on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Needless to say, it was an incredible and transformative experience (yes, exactly what I aim for with each of my clients).
Set against an incredible backdrop of ocean breezes and bustling energy, this event was a well-needed immersion for me in community, growth, and soul-aligned networking. My personal theme, how investing in ourselves pays off in powerful ways, felt more relevant than ever, especially when it came to the potential of style and image. Yup, I took some pics of my outfits.
Style is a form of self-investment that opens doors, sparks connections, and builds confidence. And while these concepts are all ones I live by and teach, it was amazing to see them play out right before my eyes. Here’s how my style choices not only made me feel fantastic and fully comfortable in the setting but also created real opportunities that wouldn’t have come my way otherwise.
Memorable Style, Memorable Impressions
I wore a several pieces that were perfectly “me” during the conference in terms of colour, style personality, silhouette, formality. One standout? My cornflower blue linen shorts suit. It was simple and minimalist (one of my style recipe words), yet it perfectly captured my personality – fresh, approachable, and undeniably me. And this suit was a hit!

People commented on it for days after, sharing how they admired it and how it had stuck with them. These weren’t just passing compliments either. The outfit became an icebreaker and a point of connection that sparked conversations and introductions. I had new connections and even a few business leads, all from that simple choice to invest in an outfit that reflected my personal style and values. Oh and by the way, it was the PERFECT choice to feel comfortable for a session of silent disco and beach dancing!
It’s a reminder that personal style can be a powerful tool. When you’re aligned with your style, you’re memorable, and people gravitate towards that authenticity. This suit was quite an investment (and so was all the training to know what I know). But the financial payoff was worth it, as it created relationships that could bring future opportunities. In an increasingly connected world, the ability to leave a memorable impression matters, and the right outfit made it happen.
It Starts with Feeling Aligned
I can’t overstate how much easier it was to build rapport with other attendees when I felt both attractive and in sync with my personal style. In those moments, it was as if my confidence was dialed up to ten. When I dressed according to my signature style, I felt incredible, to the point where I didn’t want to change out of the outfit! Please let me know what you think about this one I wore to casual dinner.

I enjoy a glamorous look so this dark green number has been a favourite investment this season. I noticed that people responded positively to my energy. Well d’uh! I am feeling gorgeous.
Great style brought an electric excitement into interactions, be it a one-on-one chat over coffee and delights at the tea break, or the whole room lighting up during panel discussions about image and presence. It reaffirmed to me just how impactful that investment in your wardrobe can be. It’s not superficial in the slightest. It’s about feeling connected to your identity, which ripples outward in every interaction.
Uncovering Realisations Aligned to My Values
The conference went beyond just business strategy. It was a dedicated and supported journey of introspection and growth. The content was deeply aligned with my values of transformation and empowerment. While listening to the speakers, I had some powerful realisations about my own weak spots and areas where I’ve been drifting from my path. Sometimes it takes stepping out of your day-to-day to see where you’ve been sliding off-course.
This experience helped me reframe where I want to go, and I came home with a renewed focus on my goals and the kind of impact I want to make with my work. Investing in myself through my style, time, and resources, has set me on a path I know is aligned with my purpose, and I’m grateful for the wake-up call.
Meeting My “Soul Tribe”
Beyond business, one of the most fulfilling aspects of the conference was meeting so many like-minded women who felt like part of my “soul tribe.” These are the people who just get it – the highs, the struggles, the vision of growth and transformation. Spending time with them brought an unexpected joy and reminded me of the high value of finding your people. And interestingly I drew a few of them in through my signature colour lipstick! Like I said, your style is an icebreaker. Just saying. Ooh! And some asked from where I got my denim dress. Another icebreaker! So that validates the time and effort I put into selecting the right one.

I’m already planning to stay connected in person, not just online. It’s a lovely feeling knowing that this investment in style and presence drew the right kind of people into my life. Socially, style can create a ripple effect, leading to deeper relationships and community, which has an immeasurable impact on happiness and wellness.
Dreaming Big
If this event taught me anything, it’s that there are big dreams on the horizon. I’m inspired to make a transformative difference in people’s lives, and it’s a mission that I’m feeling more aligned with than ever. I can’t share too many details yet, but I want to keep you all in the loop as these dreams unfold. These future opportunities will be intentionally crafted, bespoke, and designed to create real change. They’ll be available first to my previous clients and subscribers, so stay tuned… BIG things are coming for you!

Wellness in Every Choice
A big takeaway from the conference was how style, wellness, and personal growth are intertwined. Wellness is certainly about what you eat or how often you exercise, which we discussed in a wonderful perimenopause/menopause conversation too (us advanced ladies need to warn the young ones to prepare so they have a better time of it). But wellness is also about the intentionality you bring to your choices, to your clothes, your goals, your tribe. Choosing to invest in style is as much about your emotional and social well-being as it is about looking the part.
At this conference I was reminded that every thoughtful choice we make toward self-investment can lead to transformation.
So, if you’ve been putting off taking that next step in your style journey, consider this your nudge. Remember that aligning your appearance with your identity is an investment that pays off in ways you might never expect in financial, social, and emotional ways.
All my love to you. Keep watching this space, there’s so much more to come beautiful!
